For many, our intro to the best lipstick for our skin tone was through brands like Clinique and stores like MAC. Despite the consistent swarm of product launches on our Instagram feeds, one thing that stands the test of time is a shade that makes you feel like you can take on the world, especially for us brown girls. This is the very first makeup review and I’m so excited for this post because I’m completely in love with what I’m going to present today.If there’s one makeup item almost all of us swear by, I’m willing to bet it’s lipstick. Honestly I spent like 3 and half years looking for that perfect nude shade of lipstick.

It wasn’t until last December my bestfriend didn’t know what to get me for Christmas and took me to Mac to get something I wanted. Let me tell you, I tried a variety of shades on the nude side and didn’t find one that I liked. They were always too white for my skin or I just didn’t like to it looked, so I ended choosing a dark red (which I will do a review later on). The next day I went to Mac again with her because she wanted to buy something else and I saw the perfect nude lipstick! It caught my attention right away and I asked if I could try it on immediately and bought it without hesitation ($18). I was fascinated on how it looked on me, the texture, the smell, everything. I was so surprised that I actually found a nude shade that went with my skin. The thing is, the girl who helped me before was looking for nude shades that went well with whiter skin, not my skin color which is a mistake I’m sure many women make. I adore this lipstick and I wear it all the time because it’s perfect for every occasion like everyday wear for the job, school, date, EVERYTHING! Here’s a picture of me on Christmas eve and I wore it because I had kind of a heavy eye makeup which went perfect with the nude shade. I’m sorry it’s not the best quality but it turns out that’s the only decent picture of me on that night. I promise once I wear it again I will take a clearer picture which you can see the color better.
